Since 2002, some other Sisters and I have been ministering here in the eastern Coachella Valley in the interior desert of southern California. We focus on teaching English as a Second Language to immigrant farm workers living in the isolated areas near the Salton Sea.  

We work hard to get our students together with our friends from the more affluent West Valley: Palm Springs, etc.  We  have gatherings at our house and invite all our friends. Many of our West Valley friends take a list of our students' children and buy toys for them at Christmas.  When you know someone personally, it makes a lot of difference!
