In 2009 I quit my job as an architect to build an app that would give people the ability to cross political and cultural divides and contribute to the direction of public policy. We never finished the tool, be the experience led to two more startups dedicated to bringing forth the best of our collective values and ideas. It's a mission I still work on, and I believe technology will allow us better tell our stories and share our values in ways that people on the other side of a divide can understand and learn from, and ultimately lead to better governments.
